Championship Monday EOT Shoot Out

Team Concept Heat (6-0) defeated Columbia Cascades (4-1) for the Championship Monday morning. The Vancouver Heat (4-1) defeated Way 2 Win Gold for 3rd place and Premier Elite Black (3-1) defeated Team Concept Fire for 5th place. The Northwest Bluez were defeated by Jesuit HS earlier today, and Columbia Reign defeated WVBA.

Congratulations to all the Vancouver base teams. Good showing in a tough tournament (2nd, 3rd & 5th). Team Concept Heat is one of the best teams in the country. Unfortunately Premier Elite Black face them early in the tournament, which prove to be their only defeat in the tournament, but the lost threw them into the 5th place bracket.

Vancouver Heat's only lost came to Oregon City Black, and Columbia Cascades were defeated in the Championship game by Team Concept Heat.

Great start for the Summer tournament season. If you have results you'd like me to pass along please don't hesitate to let me know.

Class of the Field 2010

What a great 1st 'day and an half' of the "Class of the Field" tournament for high school teams in Oregon City. GSHL teams playing in the tournament include, Woodland, Hockinson, Battle Ground, Mountain View, and Prairie. Every team from the GHSL except for Mt. View pick up at least one victory on Friday, with more games set for Saturday evening and Sunday.

Prairie started the tournament with a victory over Meadowdale from the Seattle area before falling to Prosser in the 2nd around. The Falcon's then pick up a victory over Ferris and face St Mary's of Portland Saturday night. Mt View has face some tough competition and have fallen 3 times but they are playing hard. Both Hockinson and Battle Ground won their first round games and lost their 2nd round games. The Tiger's lost their 3rd round game against East Valley and face South Eugene later today, the Hawks face Lewis & Clark from Spokane later this evening also.
Woodland lost to Lakes of Tacoma area in the first round but defeated Kings in the 2nd round and plays Skyline Saturday night.

I strongly recommend you stopping bye and checking out some good hoops as the brackets tighten, the better teams start facing each other. Good luck to the GHSL, I will keep you informed as information becomes available.

Congratulations to Premier Elite Gold

The Premier Elite developmental team, the Gold Team, went 4 - 0 this weekend in the Reynolds Summer Tournament in Troutdale Oregon. Good for you girl's, McKayla Bradshaw, Jennifer Patterson, Sydney Holland, McKynze Rogers, Dee Browning, Chaysee Tilles, Alyse Erickson, and Kat DeVera.

Prairie Tournament

Although you have to be careful not to make too much out of summer tournaments, Prairie played well as it hosted and won it's own tournament. Defeating Beaverton, Napavine, South Medford and Oregon City.

Skyview played in the tournament also, winning one game then losing to Southridge, River Ridge, & South Eugene, but played all three games very strong. We'd be remiss not to send out a "Get Well" to Mattie Van Liew who suffered an injury to the mid section, in the last game of the tournament.

Mountain View, Union, Camas and Battle Ground all participated taking more defeats then wins, but learning and getting better.

Wow, what an exciting opening day at the Prairie Tournament. I was able to see 4 quality games including our GSHL teams. Prairie handled Beaverton of Oregon.,Skyview hung tough but lost to Southridge, Mountain View was simply over matched by powerhouse Oregon City, and Battle Ground lost to Southridge.

There were some later games but I don't have results yet.

Games continue today and Sunday, stop bye Prairie if you get a chance, you'll enjoy the competition.
