Spring Evaluation Period - MSNM Tourney

This year the Premier Elite Black team venture up to Seattle to compete in the MSNM Spring Fling. Playing in the All-Star division the Premier Elite Black team went 2 - 2. Losing to the eventual champions of the division. Overall it was a great learning experience for this young team. Continuing to grow and get better as players and as a team is exciting. Dealing with a high level of competition, pressure, and talent is a great way to test your own abilities. A few nicks and bruises later, it is exciting to see the growth of each player as we approach the oh so important summer months and tournaments. I want to mention all the girls names, Deja, Kiki, Sydney, Shanna, Jataya, Jennifer, Breanna, Dee, Cece, and Nakiesha because I felt each one did special things over the weekend, in at least one of the 4 games, that really showed their desire and why I have such high expectations for each one of them in the future. Congratulations ladies. LOCALLY The Premier Elite Gold team and the Premier Elite Middle School team competed in a tournament at Liberty Middle School in Camas and did very well. The Gold team made it to the Championship game. They lost but played well against a very good team, and took home the 2nd place trophy. The Middle School team came in 3rd place and showed themselves to be very competitive with lots of promise for the future. Job well done Premier Elite, and we look forward to our next tournaments April 30-May 1.

Premier Elite at Oregon Select Spring Tourney

Premier Elite Black and Gold teams participated in the Oregon Select tournament over this past weekend. It is nice to see the athletes from both teams grow and develop as players. On the Gold team, Chaysee Telles, Ciara Shannon, Cashsha Bynum, Mon'e Tovar, Cameron Logan, Kendra Bahr, Reneata Browning ,Keilea Swearingen, and Katie Whitten are stepping up and beginning to show the promise of a young team, that can fight hard and become winners. The Black team is very young also, with only 2 juniors Sydney Holland & Jennifer Patterson, and the rest Deja Nicholas, Kiki Alexander, Breanna Fanning, Shanna Romig, Nakesha Hatchett, Jataya Sewell, Dee Browning & Cece Wooten being freshman and sophomores will be facing growing pains at first but will become a tough team by summer. The number one objective of Premier Elite isn't to win tournaments, (although it isn't as if we don't try) but it's to improve the talent level of the players. We work hard at skill development, so when our players go back to their high schools they are better players. So as our spring season continues you will see the development of players and the wins will come along. Happy Hoops
