I am not sure why there is such a huge and sometimes ugly discord between the two. The insecurity of high school coaches, along with the illegal recruiting practices of club team coaches, have created a riff between the two entities, when they both should be working together. After all, we all want what's best for the youths of our community. If we kept that in front of us, I believe the tension could be eased.
I have been coaching at the club team level for 8 years now, Premier Elite, with one goal. To help high school athletes develop their skills, and get the exposure they so deserve, for college scholarship opportunities.
We choose to live in the Vancouver, Washington area because of the "quality of life" it offers. Unfortunately it is not a hotbed for college coaches to come and recruit players. So the alternative is to take the players to were the coaches are. "College viewing tournaments".
Premier Elite will start its 'spring team' tryouts and team selections in late March, with tournaments starting the 1st weekend of April. Information about dates, times and location will be posted soon.
