Seperation week, The have's and the have not's

Out of the 3 Greater St. Helen's Leagues, (4A, 3A & 2A) in Southwest Washington, the league leaders were made very clear this week. The only league that appears settled is the 3A, were Prairie remains undefeated and honestly overwhelmingly the most impressive team. Mountain View still mathematically has a chance to win the league but... Ironically the only league in Southwest Washington having a district playoff tournament is the 3A. And in a 'one game and out tournament', you never know, anything can happen. Camas, River and Kelso are lingering and could pull the shocker.

In the 4A, Skyview and Evergreen have separated themselves from the pack, and appear to be headed on a collision course, for a Monday Feb. 7th, winner take all game. 1st place in league and the automatic bid to the regional tournament are on the line. Also the winner avoids a "2 vs 3" one game "play in" against Battle Ground, and the winner gets a home game in the regional tournament Feb 15th. Evergreen has to handle it's business this week vs. Heritage and Union, while Skyview can actually lose games and the Feb. 7th game will still mean the same.

In the 2A, a big win by Mark Morris over Woodland this past week, has tighten up the race for 1st. If both handle their business they are headed for a clash for 1st place on Feb 4th. It's pretty clear both will represent the GSHL 2A in regional's.

With all that said, it's pretty clear how the power rankings shape up this week. Have fun. This will be an exciting week in Southwest Washington girl's basketball.
