Wednesday results;

Light schedule but heavy game. R.A. Long and LaCenter turned out to be one heck of a early season match up. LaCenter had been playing strong and beating their previous opponents fairly easily. But R.A. Long gave them a great game at home and pulled out the victory by one 43 - 42. It came down to the last ten seconds and some defensive heroics by the Lumberjills, blocking not one, not two, but three shots to preserve the victory. Katie Gudgell lead the scoring for the Jills with 11 points. LaCenter was lead by Lauren Baker's 18 and Hannah Trigg's 11.

Playing against teams out of the Portland area is always a scary proposition for teams from Vancouver. It's the big city vs. small town type mentality. But so far this season Vancouver is holding it's own. Last night was another example of just that. Heritage hosted Beaverton's Westview HS. But from the on set it was obvious Heritage was the better team. Going into the half with a 30-18 lead and never looking back. Chawncy McClenan was just to athletic for Westview scoring a team high 14 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and overwhelming Westview with her defense blocking 4 shots. Balance scoring from the rest of the team takes Heritage to 4-0.

Tonight;
Mt. View host Camas, Columbia River travels to Heritage, Ft. Vancouver visits Kelso, Woodland goes to LaCenter, and Hudson's Bay plays at Skyview.
