Tuesday results; 2/17/09

GSHL 3A
One of the worries about playing in the playoffs is dealing with injuries and the illness bug. Union was struck with the bug. Starter and impact player Janae Davis sat on the sideline helpless with an injured knee as Columbia River defeated the Titan's 41 - 55. River got big help from junior Kassilin Cloyd coming of the bench, she scored 9 straight second quarter points and 22 for the game, Brittany Landon scored 10 and the Chieftain's are moving on. Megan Dire scored 22 for the Titan's but it wasn't enough. Union's season is over.

GSHL 4A
Mountain View appeared a step faster last night hanging on for a 44 - 38 victory over Battle Ground. Late free throws did the trick and push the Thunder to the win. Caitlynn Patterson lead the Thunder with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Mt. View was force to play with out Evie Everett home sick. Gabi Dixson scored 11 in limited second half play for the Tiger's.

Kelso closed out Evergreen's season with a 54 - 25 rout. Carly Perkins lead all scoring with 16 points as the Lassie's step out to a 33-4 first half lead. Kelso moves on to face Mountain View at Heritage HS. Thursday.

GSHL 2A
Ridgefield continued it's qwest to be the second seed team for the 2A tournament that starts next week. Woodland's chances are now very slim after a 41 - 56 defeat. Ridgefield started out slow down 15-9 in the first but bounce back in the 2nd quarter and lead the rest of the way. Shelby Williams lead all scores with 17, Nichole Kates added 11 and Anna Pengra had 10 for the Spudder's. Taylor McCullough scored 12 points, McKenzie Heberer tallied 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 bolcks for the Beaver's.
