The 1A State tournament is underway

The state playoff run and the season for the LaCenter Wildcat's is over. Toledo HS was just too much for the Wildcat's who loss 57 - 41. Turnovers pleg LaCenter all tournament long, and it did again against the Indian's giving the ball away 33 times. Katrina Chamberlain scored 11 points and had 8 rebounds, Lauren Baker and Hannah Trigg scored 9 each.

Thursday LaCenter picks up a win at state and stays alive in the consolation bracket. Katrina Chamberlain scored 13, Lauren Baker and Hannah Trigg added 12 as the Wildcat's held off a late 4th quarter run by Columbia-Burbank to win 47 - 45. After building an 11 point lead in the 3rd quarter, LaCenter almost gave it back. They now move on to play Toledo at 12:30 pm Friday. Good luck ladies.

The LaCenter Wildcat's made it to Yakima, the location for this years 1A state tourney, but drew a tough 1st round game, against #1 ranked Freeman High School. On Wednesday Freeman showed why they are rank #1 with a 66 - 30 thumping of the Wildcat's. The first quarter was competitive but Freeman exploded in the 2nd scoring 26 points and never looked back. LaCenter was lead by Lauren Baker with 14 points and Hannah Trigg scoring 9. Freeman had a balance attack lead by Megan McIntyre with 15, Korina Baker 10, Carley Heinen 10 and Alyssa Maine had 9. Next for the LaCenter is Columbia-Burbank today at 12:30pm.
