Saturday results; 1/24/09

Four non-league games where played Saturday in an attempt to make up for some of the games that where postponed in December.

Columbia River faced St. Mary's of Portland, now coached by Art Royas ex-Hudson's Bay coach. This was a battle that saw St. Mary's jump out early. River made a great 3rd quarter come back, and then held on in a back an forth 4th quarter to win 51 - 49. Aimee Bolton scored 21 points and Laura Luther added 15 for the Chieftain's.

Evergreen and Ridgefield squared off Saturday. The Spudder's mashed out to a 42-11 first half lead, and cruised in to a 63 - 32 victory, solidifying themselves in this weeks Power Ranking. Nicole Kates lead all scoring with 21 points, Lauren Landerholm had 18, and Shelby Williams added 11.

Washougal squabbled with Interlake but came up short 52 - 40. Outside of a weak second quarter, Washougal played them very well. The challenge is putting together 4 quarters of play against a talented team. Alicia McElroy scored 22 points for the Panther's.

R.A. Long lost last night in overtime against Hoquiam. The Lumberjill's went scoreless in the overtime period final score 59 - 51. Katie Gudgell had 17 points, Sadie Petersen added 14 points and Christina Driscoll scored 10.
